Nomenclature Paleocopa has been proposed by Henningsmoen (1953) as a suborder. Subsequent authors used the name Paleocopa at the subclass level erroneously citing Henningsmoen, 1953 as the author, year. When the same name is used at the same group taxonomic level (e.g., suborder, order, superorder), the authorship remains the same, but when the name is proposed for a distinct group of taxonomic levels (e.g., subclass instead of suborder), the authorship changes and the first publication to use the name at this new taxonomic level is the authorship for this name at the new level.
