Keith Crandall has been a taxonomic editor at WoRMS for nearly 20 years, including helping to organize workshops on the Decapod crustaceans (DecaNet), freshwater crayfish, and barnacles. He has published nearly 400 papers, including species descriptions and classifications of various decapods and barnacles as well as a book on Decapod Phylogenetics. He has hosted the International Crustacean Congress in Washington DC and has served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Crustacean Biology since 2002. His goal, if elected to the Steering Committee would be to advocate for better linkage of WoRMS across other databases, especially connections to the IUCN Red List to advance conservation efforts of marine species that capitalize on the essential taxonomic work of WoRMS as the basis of such lists. | |
