Expertise
Meg has been the editor for the cnidarian orders Actiniaria (sea anemones) and Corallimorpharia (corallimorphs) since 2011 and co-author on the WoRMS “World List for Actiniaria.” She serves as an editor for Zootaxa and for the Bulletin of the Society of Systematic Biology and is the curator of Invertebrates for the Ohio State University Museum of Biological Diversity. Through her research on sea anemones, she has described taxa, reconstructed phylogeny, revised the higher-level classification, and studied key biological systems. She has advised graduate students studying other lineages, including Mollusks and Crustacea. She is interested in leveraging the WoRMS infrastructure and expertise to enable and increase research on marine invertebrates by increasing the kinds of information within the database (e.g., geographic records, museum records, images, trait data, taxonomic literature) and finding ways to connect to non-taxonomic research communities who may be users or contributors of those data.
